I visited the gravesite today. I can´t believe the number of years that have passed... I could use our friendship, humor, and conversation right about now. I´m forever grateful to have Nick´s friendship. Safe travels, my friend...

Louis, there are no words to express how sadden I feel for your loss. I know what a special bond you and Nick had and will continue to have. Both of you were so lucky and blessed to have eachother. He was so lucky to have you as his mother as you were to have him as your son. God blessed him with you, a wonderful mother and friend. A mother who was always there for him. Who supported him and guided him. But most importantly, who loved him unconditionally. God also blessed you with a son, who loved you undonditionally. A son who was there for you always and with whom he had a special bond. You were both very lucky to have eachother. Wich is why it is so hard for me and other people that loved you both to see you go through this loss. But I know that Nick will continue to be with you from heaven now. He will always be with you! Our prayers and thoughts will cotinue to be with you. Thank you Louis for bringin Nick into this world, and allowing us to have met him and had him blessed many peoples lives. We love You.

It is always hard to lose a loved one that is so young. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. We must think of the good memories. Even though I did not know Nick, I know that you will miss him.

To: Christine and Erik's mother
my deepest condolences, Nick was such a sweet person, each time I met with him was a good experience, I came to know Erik when I first started interpreting at RCC and at CSSB. My heart goes out to both of your families.

Louise, Judy and Christine,
I have been trying to think of what to say for the last three days. Louise, you and Nickie were so much fun for me in my childhood. You let me tag along to so many events that I wouldn't have afforded at the time. The first time I saw the Godfather 1 and 2 was in closed caption! Before there was closed caption! I remember Nickie always trying to dunk me in the pool. I too remember talking to Nickie through the fence. And throwing oranges! I also remember Queenie and Little One...and Confucius. And frisbee in the street. And Nickie always looking after me. Big brother that he was. He hated all of my boyfriends. How he gave me a kiss on my graduation night. Only because my own loser boyfriend had dumped me.(peck on the cheek, but nonetheless, special). And, looking back, he was soooo right. (about all my loser boyfriends) I remember how "Forrest Gump" articulate his bedroom always was. Everything had a place. And who could forget the "US" festival in 1983. He was Kristi's and my escort, as usual. So many memories come to mind. He "WAS" my childhood and I will never forget him.
Christine, we met for an afternoon when you were up in Seattle. I am so glad you two took the time out to meet with us, otherwise it would have been a little harder. Nickie was a lucky man and I am so sorry that his and your lives were cut short, but am so happy to have known him.
Judy, my heart also goes out to you. I know how much Nickie meant to you also.
The only other thing I can say is WOW! Nickie did so much in his short life! I am proud to have grown up with him, proud to call him my friend and I CHERISH all of the memories I have.

Love, Paddy Daniel

Louise

I am so saddened to hear of your loss. I know you will miss Nick. I only knew him for a short time when he worked for me at Cal Poly when he was starting out as a young "professional" interpreter.

Christine and Louise,
Nick was the epitome of grace. I will always remember him for his loyalty, compassion and as someone that dedicated his entire life to taking care of others. I feel so blessed to be the recipient of his friendship for the past 18 years and I will miss him greatly. My prayers go out to your families during this heart breaking time. Love CMO

Louise, My heart is with you, I will miss Nicky. I remember the day you brought him home from the hospital and the countless hours we spent together as children talking through the fence, in the play house in your backyard, and even throwing oranges at one another. He will be forever missed he was as much apart of my childhood as my own brothers and sisters.
