I have only just read about his death. He was my kind surgeon when I was only 27 and terrified having just been diagnosed with breast cancer. He was so reassuring and gave me so much hope to carry on and be a mother to my young boys.
Such a sad loss.

It was with great sadness and shock that I read Nigel's obituary only recently. He was an exceptional consultant surgeon and human being; calm, empathetic and professional with a natural warmth and sense of humour. Nigel's expertise, dedication and holistic approach made his patients feel unique and cared for and I, for one, knew I could have total confidence and trust in him. My thoughts are with his three beloved daughters and his family on this, the third anniversary of his untimely death.

It is with great sadness we heard about the enormous loss of Nigel Sacks. He saved my mother's life in 1994 and she is still alive to this day at the grand old age of 88. He was brilliant , kind and gracious. Our thoughts are with his family

Only just found out about Mr Sack's passing. I was a patient of his at Royal Marsden and St George's. He saved my life in 1994 and gave me 25 more years and counting. He was a wonderful man, kind, caring and able to think of the small things as well as the major issues. He has been my hero from the first day I met him. The world is a much poorer place for his passing.

Nigel Sacks and Prof Smith at The Marsden saved my mother's life at a very dark time for us. My father had suddenly died and my oldest son had just had a diagnosis of autism. A BRIGHT LIGHT IN A DULL WORLD we will never EVER forget his kindness. I am truly shocked - we have only just found out. I am so sorry not to have written before. Our heart goes out to his daughters and family X

I have to say, I am deeply shocked to hear of Nigel's passing. He was in deed a brilliant Oncologist and surgeon and a lovely human being. I was a patient of his back in 1990, and It would not be an exaggeration to say Mr.Sacks cured me of Cancer or I would probably not be here today. He was a Doctor who had a wonderful way of comforting and reassuring you with his seeming layed back but dedicated manor at a very worrying and difficult time of which I am eternally greatful. Please accept my deepest condolences to his wife and family. May he now rest in eternal peace.

I worked with Nigel, and it was always a pleasure to do so.
He would always shake my hand at the end of his clinic. I am distraught at his passing and wish to express my condolences
to his family. His professionalism will be sorely missed in the
NHS.
