Nikita Richardson "Niki" Jackson

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies...É On Tuesday, June 29, 2010, the Lord called one of his precious angels, Nikita Annette "Niki" Richardson Jackson home after a courageous and noble battle with cancer. Nikita, 40, of Hallsville, was born Feb. 28, 1970, to Willie and Shirley Richardson in Marshall. She married Narvis Jackson on Dec. 16, 1995. To this union, she bore a daughter, her "little angel," Najah LaPraise Jackson. Nikita was baptized at Union Missionary Baptist Church as a child. In her latter years, she affiliated with Childress Deliverance Temple and Grace Creek. Upon her death, she was a member of New Heights where Tommy Jackson is pastor. She graduated from Marshall High School in 1988 where she was a stellar athlete in basketball and track. She earned her bachelor's of science degree in general business from East Texas Baptist University in 1993. Nikita worked as program coordinator for Communities in Schools. To her daughter, she was "the best mother," who showered her with "all her love." To her husband, she was the love of his life and best friend. To her parents, she was a priceless gift from God, their darling eldest daughter. To her sisters, she was their role model, their strength and confidant. Above all, she was a humble servant of God, who lived each day for him, blessing so many with the honorable life she lived. A dear daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister and beloved friend, Nikita was only here for a moment, but made an everlasting impact in the lives she's touched. She was loved and adored by many and blessed others with her unconditional love. The love of Christ radiated through her warm spirit, her beaming smile, her encouraging words and her admirable strength. Her name, Nikita, means victorious and she walked in victory daily, gracefully with unwavering faith, praising God through her journey every step of the way, never complaining. She exuded valor and clothed herself with the virtues of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, forgiveness and love. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 14 years, Narvis Jackson, and 7-year-old daughter, Najah Jackson, both of Hallsville; her parents, Willie and Shirley Richardson, and sisters, Kimberly Richardson and Robin Richardson, all of Marshall; and many other relatives, friends and sisters and brothers in Christ. Who can find a virtuous woman? Nikita Richardson Jackson is a virtuous woman...for her price is far above rubies...Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her child rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. A woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. (Proverbs 31: 10, 25-28,30) Rest in peace, Niki. You fought a good fight. We thank God for blessing us with you and we will forever celebrate your life. A celebration of life service for Nikita Jackson will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, at Marshall Convention Center under the direction of Downs Funeral Home. Apostle Lionel Childress will officiate the services. Interment will be at Liberty Cemetery. Family hour and visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 2, 2010, at Downs Funeral Home.
