Noble James Hamilton, Jr. "Jim"

N. James (Jim) Hamilton (born February 24, 1938) went home to be with the Lord on November 5, 2018.

Born in the Midwest, he began his first pastorates in Kansas after attending Southern Nazarene University, which he loyally supported all his life. A Nazarene congregation on Hermosa Beach, CA brought him to his first church on the West Coast and, eventually, his final church in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Whatever Jim did, he did with his whole heart. Whether he was participating in or watching sports or reading his "52 books a year", he was fully vested. He loved to travel, and his trips took him as far away as the Swiss Alps for hiking and the Northernmost reaches of Canada to visit endangered seals.

His love for people was legendary. Whether he was officiating one of those thousands of weddings that he performed over the years or just having a conversation with someone whom he met sitting next to him at a ballgame, he had a way of making others feel valued, comfortable and engaged. He loved his family and friends fiercely and well, and his pride in these relationships was clear on every conversation and interaction.

He leaves behind his sweet Annie, who will miss him dearly. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and endeared friends across many states and many miles.

Although he will be missed by those who love him, we hold fast to the knowledge that he is with Jesus, and that he is experiencing the "joy unspeakable" of a heavenly home.

To honor his memory, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations are much appreciated and will be distributed to the charity that Jim loved most.
