Noel was a caring and compassionate man. He was a good friend to me and when my husband died Noel would call me every so often to make sure I was okay. This was though we lived over 2,000 miles from each other and only saw each other so seldom in our adult lives. There’s hardly a day goes by that I don’t tell someone about this wonderful
man and I think about him every day.

Noel was a true friend. He always stayed in touch to make sure I was doing ok after the passing of my husband. I remember him every day of my life and how much he loved his fig trees. Can't see a fig that I don't think of him.

Noel may have left this earth but he is never far from the memories of those who loved him. When I think of Noel from time to time, I feel like he is beside me and I have nothing to fear. He was my dearest, most trusted friend.

I find it hard to believe Noel has been gone for 7 years. I think of him often and how kind and gentle a friend he was to me.

Dear Gillette Family,
My entire life, I was aware my middle name (Noele) came from the respect my mother had for your father, Noel. I was blessed with the opportunity to meet your father in 2007 at the age of 43 and I will forever cherish the lunch, Wilkinsburg tour and photo I have of your father and myself. My prayers are with you all as you heal.

To the Gillette family
I've known your family since the late 40's. Noel and I went to the United Brethern Church and we had a group of youth fellowship people we "hung" out with. After my husband died in 2005, Noel started calling me from time to time to make sure I was ok. That was just like him. In fact, he called in February of this year and his only concern was that I was happy. He was my dearest and oldest friend and I will miss hearing from him.

I am so sorry to hear about Dr. Gillette's passing. He was my family's doctor for many years until his retirement. He was a very good, down-to-earth doctor who always made us well again! He is sadly missed.

Gillette Family, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Gillette. You don't know me, but I was there on the bridge with him that day we tried to help and thought he would be ok. Again my sincere sympathy.

I miss my cousin, especially his stories regarding the family farm and the exciting Bridge comments he always had. We shared an unusual amount of family get-togethers at each other's houses and farm. Memories to be cherished!

Dear John and family,
I wanted to extend my sympathies to you and your family for the loss of your Dad. He treated our entire family all our lives. Something I've always remembered about your Dad was that he was the last of physicians to make house calls! Truly an old school "family doctor". Glenn Cawood

Dear John,
We are in Israel now, and just learned about the passing of your father. We are shocked and very saddened by his sudden passing. He was such a lively person, an avid bridge player, and a caring father. We'll miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with you and your family

To the Gillette Family,
What a wonderful friend my Mother, Edith DaLee, had in Noel's Mother Nel.
I can certainly understand how this fine woman would have raised such greatly respected children. When I was 16 I had a bad case of shingles and my Mom took me, back then, to see Dr. Gillette & the remedy he prescribed clear it up in no time..What a wonderful man of integrity & appreiciation the community had for you Dr. Gillette. We loved your Mom and you & will miss you dearly. You are now united wth your lovely Mother totally whole & praising Our Heavely Father in Heaven...
