Nora Burch

Church services for Nora Burch, age 94, of Lubbock and formerly of Muleshoe, is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2008, at First Baptist Church, Muleshoe, with Dr. Stacy Conner officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery, Muleshoe, TX. Mrs. Burch died Sunday, November 30, 2008, in Whisperwood Nursing Home in Lubbock.
She was born April 24, 1914, in Mangum, OK, to J.E. and Ethel (Cooper) Miller. She married John E. Burch in Mangum, Oklahoma on October 22, 1932. Mrs. Burch graduated from Mangum High School, Mangum, OK. She moved from Clovis, NM, to Muleshoe in 1963 and then to Lubbock in 2004. She was employed by CR Anthony Department Store in Muleshoe as a sales clerk for 17 years.
Survivors include her son, Ronald E. Burch and wife, Gloria of Alamogordo, NM; daughter-in-law, Viola Burch of Lubbock; three grandchildren, David W. Burch, Laura J. Wilson and Cindy Matthews, and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John on February 19, 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Darrel Burch; a sister, Lida Wilhite and two brothers, Jack and Charlie Miller.
