Norma Elizabeth Mandelkow, 81, of Red Wing, died Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.

She was born Oct. 31, 1933, to Anton and Sophia (Anderson) Winberg in Red Wing. She graduated from Ellsworth High School. On Nov. 1, 1952, she married Lyle Mandelkow at Svea Lutheran Church. She worked for Ferrin Furniture in Red Wing and White Rock State Bank. Lyle died on Sept. 3, 2012.

She was a member of Vasa Lutheran Church where she was active with WELCA and also worked as the financial secretary for many years. She enjoyed reading, cooking, shopping and sewing, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. 

She is survived by her two children, Judy (Ron) Scripture and Larry (Diane) Mandelkow, all of Red Wing; daughter-in-law, Terri Mandelkow of Red Wing; 11 grandchildren, Mike, Adam, Jeff, Andrew, Mitchell and Chelsey Mandelkow, Courtney Meyer, Angie Metling, Jill Anderson, Aaron Scripture and Allison Dicke; 15 great-grandchildren, Collin Metling, Dylan and Lucas Anderson, Mason, Rylan, William, Cameron, Tristin, Kylie, Emma, Tucker and Ezra Mandelkow, Sophia Scripture, Virgil Dicke and Kaiden Burmester; and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Scott and Gary; four brothers, Ralph, Milton, Marland and Donald Winberg, and one sister, Doris Cook.

Funeral service will be at noon Thursday, Oct. 15, at Vasa Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Howard White officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church on Thursday.

Memorials are preferred to Vasa Lutheran Church.
