Norman H. Barnett

Norman H. "Barney" "Pa" Barnett departed this life to his heavenly home on Sept. 9. Barney was born on Sept. 22, 1928 in Sobol, OK to Bill and Viola Barnett. After graduating from Wright City High School, he served 4 years in the U.S. Navy. Barney then began his career as an electrician, where he made a multitude of lifelong friendships. Much of his working life was spent as a superintendent for Belco Electric and Libra Electric. He was a member of Howard Memorial Baptist Church in Del City.He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia, of the home, his children, Mike and wife Debbie of Norman, Susan Veatch and husband Bobby of OKC, Norman and wife Sherryl of Moore, and Sandra Freeman and husband John of OKC, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his brother Billy Jack Barnett and family of Rattan, OK.Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the Advantage Funeral Service Mid-Del Chapel, 412 N. Air Depot, Midwest City.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Quality Care, 921 S. Sooner Rd., Del City, OK.Submitted by family
