Pocket protectors...that was my first impression. I asked Mom if I should buy him more for the holidays. Shortly after living with Norm, I realized he was our guardian angel, and I never stopped thinking of him that way. Norm taught me how to drive. He was so calm and patient teaching, whether it was driving or math. I could only get tutored by Norm, not Mom. And I still think of him every time I check all of my mirrors. Norm changed my life in so many ways. His jokes...ugh...they were always my favorite. We shared a love of the Bills. Living in St. Thomas, I was in admiration of his mathematical calculation that if he swam X amount of laps, he could have a rum He had another fascination with how many mosquitos he would zap with his bug racket, keeping a tally in pencil on the racket...and he would justify the cost of that bug racket based on his tallies. Norm would dance with me and we loved listening to music together. Always my guardian angel

Norm was the best step father a kid could ever ask for. Having him as a teacher for Calculus 1 and 2 he always made me "dig deeper" and he surely loved his mice somewhere along the x and y axis. Some of my most enjoyable times with Norm came over the last 2 years where we would sit and enjoy some of Nelly's coquito, or a manhattan, let go of our present day stressors, and just shoot the breeze. I surely wouldn't be the person I am today without his influence in my life.
