Norman E. Flack

Norman E. Flack was born on July 8, 1939, in Greeley to Carroll and Lu Flack. He died peacefully on March 31, 2022, at the age of 82, with his wife Linda and his sister-in-law by his side. Norm attended Greeley public schools graduating from Greeley High School in 1957. During these years he earned many regional and national awards in roller skating competitions. He was a gifted football player and was on the All State All Stars in 1956- 57. He received a football scholarship to Colorado A&M (now Colorado State University) and received his BA in 1961. He later returned for his MA in Entomology in 1987. He married the former Mary K. Wurzbacher. Together they raised three children, and they later divorced. Norm had a varied and interesting series of careers going to work for the Federal Land Bank and then moving into savings and loan banking. For a while during these years he farmed in Weld County and then began farming full time in 1971. He later was part owner of an aerial application company and then worked in various capacities in the agricultural chemical industry. In 1993 he married the former Linda Cameron Ray Pearce and moved to Boulder. Norm enjoyed golf, supporting the Broncos and traveling all over the United States, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, Canada and Europe. Norm was also a skilled craftsman of fine wood furniture. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Duane "Doc" Flack. He is survived by his wife, Linda, and his children David Flack (Renee), Brian Flack and Kristin Ames (Ben), stepchildren Letitia Ray and Colby Pearce (Mari), eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held later this Spring.
