Dear Sharon and Carole
I was very sorry to hear of Norm's passing. Although I never had much contact with you and Norm I felt as if I knew him well because of his wonderful sister Carole who is such a good friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

It was with great sadness to read yesterday's paper and my sincere sympathy to Sharon, Carol and familes. My family the Kemp's lived across the street (Pender St) from "Normie Hill". I have MANY memories of him and the neighbor kids, Billy Mills, Irene Parks, the Krog girls, Alec John MacDonald to name a few. These were great times when we played outside ALL DAY,until the 9 o'clock gun went off and everyone had to go home. We built forts in the bushes (better known as vacant lots), roller skated, biked, went swimming, the Sat. afternoon matinee's. Sitting on a front porch playing I Spy, or Hide n' Seek, Baseball in the street, I remember very well the night that "Normie" hit the ball and broke a leaded living room window at the Chourney's, we all ran and hid IN the huge Holly Tree across the street. Woodworking was probably started when he made skooters out of wooden apple boxes and 2x4's and old roller skates, as well as helping his Dad build a bedroom in the basement after Carol was born. I last saw Norm when he and Don Ward came down to Seattle about 1954 to visit. It was special to read of all his success's in life with family, business, as a special volunteer, etc. My thoughts will be with you all Sat.

I was so sorry to read about Norm's passing in today's (Dec. 6th) newspaper. Many people will admire his success as a family man, friend, businessman, sports figure, handyman and tireless volunteer. Norm and my brother met in their teen years and sustained a life-long friendship. Through my brother, I initially met Norm in my early child-hood and again, decades later. Despite the passage of years, he remained the 'same old Norm' whom I remembered for his kind, friendly manner and easy smile. Sincere condolences to Sharon, to Carole, and to their families.

Sharon
Words cannot express how I feel at a time like this. Norm held a very special place in my heart and such wonderful memories of summers spent together when we were kids. He indeed was a very special cousin.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time
