Norman Kleckner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2025.
Norman Kleckner, 86, passed away on February 19, 2025, in Hayward, California.

Born on September 6, 1938, in California, Norman spent his entire life in the Bay Area, a place he deeply loved. He was known for his warmth, humor, and resilient spirit, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him. He embraced each day with enthusiasm and always took the time to share the importance of education and moral integrity with his loved ones.

Norman was married to Wanda Sue Kleckner for nearly fifty years. Even after her passing, he carried her memory in his heart. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished moments. He was immensely proud of his sons, David and Steven Kleckner, and treasured their time together on hunting, fishing, and family trips. He also enjoyed spending time with David's partner Claudia and Steven's partner Carrie.

Being a Papa to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him great joy. He shared special bonds with Noelle MacWilliams (and her family), Nicole Angeles (and her family), Nick Kleckner (and his fiancé), Cody Kleckner (and his family), Leanne Cozart, Katie Kleckner, and Cassandra Carrillo (and her family). His family was his greatest pride, and he never missed an opportunity to express how much they meant to him.

Norman had a passion for traveling, entrepreneurship, hunting, fishing, collecting antiques, and spending time with loved ones. He enjoyed reminiscing about childhood adventures, early jobs and valued the time spent with his father and grandfather. A longtime member of the Millwrights Union Local 102-an organization that also included his father, sons, and grandson-he took great pride in his work and the friendships he built through it.

Beyond family and career, Norman found fulfillment in helping others through fellowship programs where he formed lifelong friendships. His generosity of spirit touched many lives over the years.

A funeral service will be held on February 26, 2025, 12:30-2:30 at Lone Tree Cemetery.

Norm is the young boy on the left in this photo. He lived life! He was given challenges most people could never overcome. How you made it to 86, is beyond anything I can comprehend. I will miss you and treasure our talks, meals together and those movies we watched together. I would love to live in a world, where humans were as kind, sharing, courageous and as interesting as you. Truly are one of a kind. I´m glad our paths crossed. I promise to love and take care of Steve. Your family was everything to you. Rest in Peace.

Papa was the most thoughtful, strong and positive person I've ever known. He passed along his love for life through story telling and sharing words of wisdom. I always knew how much he loved me, and I loved and respected him so much. Always in my mind and heart Papa.
