NORMAN GILLIS LAMB (Age 84)  
Of Glen Allen, VA, a native of Washington, DC and former resident of New Carrollton, MD, departed this earth after a fulfilling and vivacious life on Friday, March 2, 2012. Norman was a veteran of the US Army, a 35-year employee of the Library of Congress and a regular volunteer and coach for the Boys and Girls Club of New Carrollton, MD. Anyone that knew Norman could tell you he was never short on jokes or shy of meeting new people. He was well loved and respected in the community. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elaine Lamb; five children and their spouses Karen Gundling (Steven), Stephen Lamb (Ann), Diane DeGrandchamp, Kenneth Lamb and Russell Lamb; two Grandchildren Daniele DeGrandchamp and Nicholas Lamb in addition to many beloved nephews and nieces and their families. Visitors will be received at Bennett Funeral Home, Mechanicsville, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd on Saturday, March 10, from 1 to 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Elaine and Family,

Our heartfelt sympathy to you all. We surely will miss our good neighbor Norm, especially his quick wit and teasing, but overall his kind heart and good nature.
