Norman Teal Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 7, 2024.
Norman John "Chuck" Teal passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. He had loved ones with him in his final hours.

Visitation/Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, December 12 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sterling-Ashton-Schwab-Witzke Funeral Home (1630 Edmonson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228.)

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mark's Chapel (30 Melvin Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228) on Friday, December 13 at 10:00am.

Burial ceremony of his ashes will take place at Loudon Park Cemetery (3620 Wilkins Ave., Baltimore, MD 21229) at 2:00pm, December 13.

Chuck was born on March 9, 1951 in the great city of Baltimore. He graduated from Mergenthaler Vocational Technical High School, where he excelled as a soccer player. He was very proud of his service as a nurse at South Baltimore General Hospital. He retired as an insurance agent from Knights of Columbus, where he spent many decades.

Chuck loved his children, Meghan and Patrick, to the ends of the earth and always supported their dreams. He had many other friends and family members he loved dearly. When he loved you, he loved you fiercely. Chuck really found his passion in coaching. He started by coaching his kids' basketball, softball, and baseball teams. That extended to coaching local high school basketball teams and he eventually landed doing what he loved most - coaching high school soccer. The accomplishments of the various teams he coached throughout the years were some of his greatest sources of joy.

Chuck also loved movies, horse racing, playing board games and cards, and going for long drives listening to his favorite music. He stayed true to his Catholic faith his entire life and the Church meant a lot to him. He was a deep thinker and a big dreamer. His relationships always consisted of inside jokes, ridiculous nicknames, pranks, and eyerolls.

Chuck is survived by his children, Meghan Teal (Emily Weissbourd) and Patrick Teal; his sisters Jacqueline McGill and Shelly McGuirk; many nieces and nephews and their children; and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Teal and sisters Colleen Krainer and Jane Bucci, and his father Jack Teal and mother Catherine Teal (nee Rahe).
