Norman Wood

Binghamton - On July 2, 2025, his wife's birthday, we lost a unique character of a man.

Norm passed away peacefully in his comfy bed at home. His wife held his hand as he quietly took his final breath, and was honored to be there to comfort him. Norm was born may 18, 1949, to Mary and Norman wood. He was an honest, reliable, hard working boy, who carried that work ethic into adulthood. He was a well known succesful business man in his younger days, with several businesses in the area. Cars were his passion, both in business and personally. In later years he worked for Donson Transportation , and he described those years as the most rewarding working years of his life. Norm was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. His grandma Wood was so very special to him and must be mentioned. He looked forward to seeing her again, hugging her and thanking her for always being there for him. Norm is survived by his wife Rosemary, who he married 10/4/1967, his 2 sons, Tom and Jim(Shannon), daughter Lynn(Mindy), bonus daughter Chris Wood, grand children Kate, Zack, Kami, Laini, and Bryson, and sweet great granddaughter Izabella, who brought him such joy every time she visited. Izabella and her dad, Zack were his final visitors before his death. Norm is also survived by his sister Susan(Gene). He shared many breakfasts with Sue and Gene, and loved and appreciated both of them. He's also survived by Uncle Bill, who he loved dearly , and by numerous cousins. I He wanted to thank Lauren, Amy, Renee, and the other hospice providers for all they did for him. They supported him and his wife during his very difficult last months, and they were greatly appreciated.There will be no service at his request. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Norm requested donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Guthrie Lourdes Hospice in his name. Arrangements through Aegis Cremation Services. Fly free Norm.
