Norval Andrew Keith, 81, of Claremont, passed away September 26, 2006, at his home. Norval was born March 2, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MI and was a resident of Claremont for 30 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II, as paratrooper in the 17th Airborne Division. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, crossed the Rhine River in Operation Varsity and further fought in Central Europe. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and had an engineering career of 42 years retiring from Teledyne Cast Products Pomona in 1992. Norval was a member of the Moose Club, Lions Club and V.F.W., all of Wood River, IL, as well as being a member of the 17th Airborne Division Association. Surviving is his wife, Lois Keith; sons, Phillip Keith of Shady Cove, OR and Kevin Keith of Rancho Cucamonga; daughter, Robyn Keith-Baird of Lake Arrowhead; brother, Robert Keith of Grand Rapids, MI; and sister, Arlene Lenox, also of Grand Rapids, MI. A memorial gathering will take place at the Hampton Inn, 4500 E. Mills Circle, Ontario on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 104 E. State St., Ste. B, Redlands, CA 92373. Todd Memorial Chapel, Pomona is in charge of arrangements.
