O. Bryant Obituary

O. C. Bryant, 74, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 at his home in Pearl. Visitation will be held today form 5-9 p.m. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon. Funeral Services are 12 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with interment to follow in the Rehobeth Baptist Cemetery in Pelahatchie.
Mr. Bryant was born and raised in Rankin County. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known as the best trotliner around. Mr. Bryant enjoyed many other sports especially football and nascar. He was also a great mechanic and gardener in which he loved to grow tomatoes.
Mr. Bryant loved, took good care of his family and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He was a friend to all of his buddies and will be greatly missed. In all respects Mr. Bryant was a true southern gentleman.
He is survived by his three daughters, Dianne Byrd and husband, Robert, of Pearl, Paulette Myers and husband, Edwin, of Pearl and Linda Epperly and husband, Don, of Pearl; one sister, Edna Marie Young of Richland; one brother, Buck Bryant and wife, Faye, of Pelahatchie; seven grandchildren, Nancy Thomas and husband, Cliff, Billy Buck Stingley, Nikki Miley and husband, Jonathan, Jeff Byrd and wife Susan, Chris Hogan and wife, Sandy, Shae Godbey and husband, Todd and Joseph Hogan and wife Tara; nine great-grandchildren with two on the way; three step-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Doris Stewart Bryant in 2002; one son, Odous Charles "Jr." Bryant in 1998; his parents, Odous Cleo Bryant and Rosie Renfroe Bryant; one brother, Wiley Scott Bryant and his step-father, Percy Till
A special thanks goes out to the nurses on 3B and 6D at the Miss. Baptist Medical Center as well as Sandy, Danny and Jenny at Hospice Ministries for the care and support they all gave to Mr. Bryant.

Hi Paulette,
Was so sorry to hear about your dad.. I know how hard that is on you .. I lost my mom in 1991...but am blessed to still have my dad...Just know that my thoughts and prayers have been with you these past days...Please try and come to our next girls night out that we have on the first Tuesday of each month..

We will always remember O.C. for his fish - we would buy them and take them to AZ when we lived out there - so you will need to keep the memories and he will always be with you - may you lean on God for comfort at this time
