Richard Larry Massei

Richard Larry Massei, 78, died on April 22, 2008. Richard (Dick) was a long time resident of Millbrae, CA before moving to La Quinta, CA almost 20 years ago. Dick was born on April 3, 1930 in San Francisco to his beloved parents, Achille Amadeo Massei and Mary Francis Massei, previously deceased. He graduated from Balboa High School in 1948. He wed the love of his life, Blue Hawks, on May 20, 1950. He worked with his father at Massei Auto Supply in San Francisco. He owned and operated the business, with 3 of his sons, for many years until he sold it in 1986. Dick loved to golf and was a member of Green Hills Country Club in Millbrae and later PGA West in La Quinta. He reveled in the opportunity to meet many professional golfers while volunteering at the PGA events near his home. Dick also loved singing and dancing and at any given time you could catch he and Blue dancing and singing around the house or entertaining friends at parties with their talents. Dick is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Blue Massei, and his six children: Rick Massei of Kirkland, WA, Tim Massei of Forest Hills, CA, Dan Massei of San Carlos, CA, Sandee Bruneman of Annapolis, MD, Troy Massei of Elk Grove, CA, and Stacey Deck of Mission Viejo, CA. He was the beloved father in law of Linda Marriott, Liz Massei, Mark Bruneman, Gina Massei, and Alan Deck, and the adoring grandfather of Rik, Alycia, Blue, Ty, Clay, Justin, Alexon, Gianna and Alexia Massei, Anthony, Perry, M.J. and Tammy Bruneman, Darbi and Capri Deck. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2008 at St. John's Lutheran Church, 42695 Washington Street, Palm Desert, CA.
