Helen Hawkins Holbrook, age 83 of Naples, FL, formerly of Carpentersville, died Wednesday, October 29, 2008 surrounded by her loving family in Rockford.

Helen was born in Chicago on October 27, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Bernard and Bertha (nee Tumbleson) Hoedebeck. Helen was a former 20 year resident of the Dundee/ Carpentersville area and a member of the Dundee VFW #2298 Women's Auxiliary.

Survivors include her five children, James (Kathleen) Hawkins of Bonita Springs, FL, Alice (John) Piccolin of Rockford, William Hawkins of Lake Stevens, WA, Pete (Genevieve) Hawkins of Aurora, CO and John "Pat" (Pam) Hawkins of Algonquin; Helen is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosemary Klein of Vernon Hills; her brother, Bernard (Lorraine) Hoedebeck of Naples, FL; and her sister-in-law, Grace Knowles of Sebring, FL.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Edward Hawkins and her second husband, Arthur Holbrook.

Family and Friends will meet for a funeral mass on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Catherine Of Siena Church, 845 W. Main St. in West Dundee. The Rev. Thomas J. Doyle, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in the River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 from 4-9 in the Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee and again on Thursday morning in the church from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made either to the OSF Hospice, Rockford or the American Diabetes Association.
