To write these words is so painfull Seán Although we do it every year In the hope that somehow you may hear us And know we hold you dear. The first time we saw your face And held you in our arms You stole our hearts and captured us With all your boyish charms. We loved you as a baby You were our blue eyed boy And when you grew into a fine young man Your were our pride and joy. We long to see your smiling face Your voice we long to hear And the love that gave us so much joy For 19 short years. Your birthday isn't just a day That comes and hurries by It's a time to think of things we've shared And the times you made us smile. It's a chance to say You're in our thoughts Every day all year through It's a time for us to say How much we love and miss you. We can't buy you a present Like we used to do We used to love to see your face When we handed them to you That's just one of the many things That's going through our minds We want to say so much to you But words are hard to find It's your birthday Seán and we miss you That's what we want to say We haven't got your anymore But in our hearts you'll stay, So many precious memories Now touched by silent tears Of life we shared with you Seán Are now our precious souveniers The warmth of smiles and laughter That extra special wish Those everyday reminders of How badly you are missed We browse through our photos Seán With love and pride We know that this sorrow Will someday subside "Happy Birthday Darling" You're loved, remembered and missed so much - your heartbroken Mum and Dad, Martina and Seán Brother Another birthday has come around Seán And there's nothing we can do But sit for a while and picture your smile Just like we always do. Looking back on your birthday's Seán And how they used to be Reminds us of the special person Your were for all to see. You came into our lives And brought us so much joy You were taken for us so suddenly We'll always wonder why. We remember when we were young And we were all together Our family took a normal shape We thought it would last forever. Today should be so special Seán Full of birthday cheer With family, friends and presents If only you were here. Well today is still special But it won't be filled with cheer But tears and lots of heartache Wishing your were here. We wish we were together On this your special day To watch you open birthday cards The things you used to say. The cards you would turn upside down And shake what was inside The sentiment never mattered It was what was inside. No cards or gifts to give you No candles on your cake Just a sad and lonely journey to your grave Is all that we can make.
