Yoshio MURAKAMI Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 3, 2003.
MURAKAMI _ Our dear "Ojiichan" was re-united with his wife and son in heaven on August 28, 2003. Yoshio Murakami passed away peacefully at Nikkei Home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 95. Born in Wakayama Japan on December 1, 1907, and immigrated to Canada in 1935, Yoshio had an extraordinary zest for life and will long be remembered for his wisdom, kindness and great attention to detail. Predeceased by wife Jitsuko and son Sam, he is survived by son, Harry (Yoko) and daughter-in-law, Ruth. Yoshio had five grandchildren: Julie, Stephen, Leanne, Naomi and Ricky and four great grandchildren: Connor, Samantha, Cameron and Kiana. A memorial service will be held at the Vancouver Japanese United Church on Saturday, September 6 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers and koden, please send donations to Nikkei Home or Vancouver Japanese United Church. Many thanks to Dr. G. McAnulty and staff at Nikkei Home. "Sayonara Ojiichan, mata ne!"
