Dear Tout and Rosenblatt Families:

My deepest sympathy goes out to all of you who were so blessed to call Mary Jo Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sis, etc. I was honored to call her friend as well as co-worker from the first time I met her at RPCI where I worked with her in the Clinical Genetics Dept. What an angel! Words are not enough to pay tribute to this loving, kind, and compassionate woman. I will remember her always. Please know you are all in my prayers and thoughts throughout this difficult time. Knowing that she is sitting on a cloud, smiling and sending you her love each day from Heaven will help sustain you.

The Rosenblatt and Tout Families,

I was so saddened to hear of Mary Jo's death today in mass at Holy Cross. She was my friend when she worked for a year after college to save money for grad school. We worked together at the PHP Health Center in Dewitt. She was an even better friend when she took time off from her studies to be a bridesmaid in my wedding.Mike you were unable to attend because you were in the service then I believe. I was thrilled to be at your wedding and happy over the years to get the holiday cards she sent. Mary Jo was one of the sweetest and kindest persons I have ever known. My deepest condolences go out to the families.

Paul and I wanted to express our most heart-felt sorrow for the loss of Mary Jo. I worked with Mary Jo at Roswell Park in the Department of Clinical Genetics... Feeling new and out of place, Mary Jo made me feel right at home. She was always there to answer a question & no matter how silly or stupid I felt- she had a way of taking that away. What an amazing teacher! She was so patient. Mary Jo was intelligent, kind, honest, funny, warm, and sensitive. She was a colleague, as well as a friend; someone who you knew you could trust, depend upon to be sincere with her opinions and advice, lean on in a time of need, & offer a shoulder to cry on. Mary Jo was dedicated to her patients. She worked tirelessly, with passion and dedication. Mary Jo cared about her patients as if they were her very own family. And what a family she has! Mary Jo loved her husband & boys with her whole heart. She spoke of them constantly... bubbling over with pride, happiness, and abundant love! You just knew that her family & friends were the light of her world. I will pray for all of Mary Jo's family at this time, asking God to fill your hearts with the presence of Mary Jo...warmth, beauty, spirit, & love. Remember...you carry her heart with you- you carry it in each of your hearts. Her spirit is only as far away as a prayer. May your memories bring you comfort & may the love of God sustain you through this incredible loss.

Dear Michael -- We have never met but our niece, Kim, shared a room a few weeks ago with Mary Jo at St. Peter's. She was so friendly from the minute we got there and we shared many conversations over the next three days. It was so obvious that uppermost in her mind was her family. She was so thrilled to be going to your son's play that night that we all became excited for her and enjoyed hearing about it the next day.....We also met your Mom and Dad briefly one day when they brought Mary Jo lunch.. It is obvious that you have a loving family surrounding you and we hope that your wonderful memories. along with their help, sustain you in the coming days. Joanne & Paul Crispo

Dear Michael, Joshua, and Zachary,

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Mary-Jo at Albany Med for several years. She was a wonderful individual with a kind soul. She was caring and compassionate with the patients for whom she was providing genetic counseling. Yet, it was you, her family, that truly inspired her life.

We will sorely miss her. I am certain that she has found a nice spot in Heaven.

Sincerely,

Marilyn Fisher

Mary Jo was my cousin. I only knew her as a young girl and a young woman, but it's my experience that people's basic natures never change. She was a good soul and a caring and loving person then--what a spectacular adult she must have been. No part of this makes sense to me or seems fair, but I know this. Heaven has gained one of its greatest angels and from above she will be looking out for the husband and sons she left behind. People's basic natures never change.
