He retired from the NYS Department of Transportation as a heavy equipment operator. Bruce was involved in many community organizations. He was a founding member of the Pompey Rod and Gun Club and an honorary member of the Pompey Hill Fire Department. An avid hunter and Boston Red Sox fan, Bruce loved sports and coaching. He spent many years coaching teams in the Cherry Valley Little League and loved watching the Fabius-Pompey Varsity Baseball Team.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary (McDermott); four daughters, Kathy (Paul) Costello, Karen (Wayne) Wilcox, Kristin (Joe) Bobbette and Karolyn Cornell; three sons, Kevin (Darcie), Kenneth (Terri) and Bruce (Jyl); one sister, Nancy Nash; 23 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at the Pompey Community Church, 2555 Berwyn Road, Pompey. Spring burial will be in the Pompey Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 Wednesday, AT THE CHURCH.
