Butler, GA- Mrs. Christine Lorraine Tookes Roquemore, 78, of Butler Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at her residence in Albany, Georgia.
Services are 11:00AM, Sunday, May 31, 2015, Hopewell Baptist Church, 90 Hillcrest Drive, Butler, Georgia 31006, with interment at West End Cemetery, Hollis Street, Butler, Georgia.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 208 Tremont Avenue, Albany, Georgia on Friday, May 29, 2015 and at 197 Broad Street, Butler, Georgia on Saturday, May 30, 2015.
Mrs. Roquemore was born on November 19, 1936 in Butler, Georgia. She was a retired educator in the Dougherty County School System. She served as a teacher for 34 years.
Survivors include three children: Ronald Roquemore (Duluth, Georgia), Hortense Roquemore Jackson (Albany, Georgia), Jose` (Sharon) Roquemore (Albany, Georgia); six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

To The Family,
Some would say it was her time to leave her earthly home. I would say that it is never time for a soul you care for and love so dearly and deeply
to depart from your physical present; nevertheless, it is the way of life, God's plan for all living things. Mrs. Christine Tookes Roquemore is a beautiful soul. I say "is" because that soul lives on in the many lives she has touched. Mrs. Roquemore earthly present will be missed, but soul and beautiful spirit will live on in the smiles, laughter, the love, the words of encouragement she shared with all of us. To the Family, please accept my heart felt condolences in losing the earthly present of your Mother. Amos Tookes, Jr.
