I had the pleasure of being trained by Serena at Vals! There's my buddy! she always said when she saw me! She helped me to learn all about Louisiana food so that I could be a great waitress. I was so amazed at how fast she could move around all those tables at her age. She was truly special. I drove her home every night after our shift & I always made sure to hug her goodbye & that I would see her next time we worked together. I am forever thankful for the years I got to spend with her! Love you always Serena! :)

Ms. Serena...what a lady! We loved Vals, but our favorite part of the trip was our visit with Ms. Serena. She was so special to us. I began going to Vals as a child and continued until its closure...probably most all the years it was in business! I cant ever remember going that we didnt try to get in Ms. Serenas section first. Of course, there were times that wasnt possible, but it didnt stop her from coming over to us and checking on us anyway. She had a heart of gold. After my adult daughter became ill and was unable to join us on our trips to Vals, Ms. Serena never failed to ask about Allye and assured me she was praying for her. What a sweet soul!! Ms. Serena, you were and will continue to be thought of so lovingly by my family as Im sure by so many other families you touched with your kindness through the years. We will see you again...❤

Mrs Audrey and all of your family. We are so sorry for your loss of Mrs Serena. My Mom and Dad were frequently at Vals and always looked for Mrs Serena. We all loved her. Keeping you all in prayers. .

I was blessed to know Mrs. Serena as a nurse practitioner who had provided her care. She will be deeply missed. I pray for her family during this difficult time of loss.
