Milton Jacobson, 90, Sarasota, formerly of Elmira, N.Y. died April 2, 2007.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Temple Beth Israel Synagogue, 567 Bay Isles Road, Longboat Key. Burial immediately will follow the service at Palm Memorial Park, 170 Honore Ave., Sarasota. Palms Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Born in New York City, Milton lived most of his life in Westfield, Pa. He moved to Sarasota 20 years ago from Elmira, N.Y.
Milton graduated from Bucknell University and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry (1944); in both instances as valedictorian of his graduating class. He was a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society.
He served in the Army during World War II as a Captain in the Dental Corps, stationed in Camp Wheeler, Ga.
In Elmira, N.Y., Milton was President of the Jewish Community Center and a member of the Board of Directors and a long time member of Congregation Shomray Hadath. He was also very active as a member and leader of the Jewish War Veterans, B'nai Brith and the Masons.
He was President of the Sixth District Dental Society in New York and active as a member and leader of the New York Dental Society. He was a Fellow of the American College of Dentistry.
In Sarasota, Milton was an active member of Temple Beth Israel.
Survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Horwitz Jacobson; children, Judy (Alan) Wertheimer of Rochester, N.Y., Marty (Karen) of Reading, Pa. and Sue of Sarasota; grandchildren, Spike (Heather) Love, Lisa (Joe) Klinikowski, David Wertheimer, Daniel Jacobson, Jon (Amanda) Jacobson and Kate Jacobson; two great-grandchildren, Ella Klinikowski and Tai Jacobson; and brothers Morris Jacobson of Sarasota and Irving (Miriam) Jacobson of Baltimore.

Dr. Jacobson was the very first dentist I ever went to as a child. His practice was in Elmira, NY on Water Street. *THANKS* to my parents and Dr. Jacobson, I still have good teeth today.

I was a patient of Dr. Jacobson many years ago. It impressed me that he wrote to such people as Robert Kennedy concerning world problems. I remember his son Martin who was a student at EFA during my tenure there.
