Obed "O.B." Hill, 88, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 17, 2007. The proud owner of Hill's Linoleum for over 30 years, O.B. was an avid sportsman, and enjoyed raising and showing his World Champion Redbone Hounds, who appeared in the movie, "Where the Red Fern Grows".
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Hill; grandson, Mark King; granddaughter, Tracy Hill, and his favorite Redbone Hound, Red Ace.
O.B. leaves behind his children, Glenda Haile, Jimmie Hill and Donna Giuntoli. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, James Hill, Rebecca Hill, Tammy Snider, Joseph Giuntoli, Deborah Farmanian, Jennifer Haile and his 6 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, California. Services will be held at on Wednesday, May 23, 11:00 a.m., Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. I knew Mr. Hill for several years. You didn't have to wonder where you stood with him, because he would tell you. I am sure glad to have some of his dogs in my kennel.

Mr Hill will be greatly missed. We will especially miss our regular phone conversations. We are committed to keeping his line of Redbones going into the future and are grateful for all he did for us. Through his dogs, his legacy will live on.
