I was never afforded the opportunity of meeting Mrs. Mia Goodwin but it appears she was good-hearted, wholesome, dynamite woman! I am a resident of Durham, NC. Currently, I am here at work watching the news and learned of the tragic event. I tell you I cried like a baby when I learned this had happened to such a beautiful, precious soul. To know she had just now returned from maternity leave and died three days before Christmas really tore my heart to pieces. They say to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord! Mia, I know you are now safe in his arms. I know your family is hurting because I am and didn't even know you. Goodwin family, I am praying for your peace and comfort. I know it will not happen immediately but with time, things get better! Love you all!!!!

Anytime Mia Goodwin would come into roll call at shift change, the mood in the room would always change to laughter and excitement. We loved to hear her New Jersey accent. She will be missed. She loved her job and she loved her family.

Just a few days ago, God sent his angel to pick the most beautiful gardenia from Earth's garden. This garden had the most precious and beautiful flowers that fills the air with fragrance. God wanted that precious gardenia (Mia Goodwin). Out of the twelve Pearl's, one had Mia's name on it signifying her journey to God's Kingdom. She fought a good fight. She kept the faith and has finished her course; receiving her crown of righteousness, laid up in Heaven just for her. She made a difference by touching many people lives (like touched by an angel). We all are going to miss her deeply, shedding tears with nothing but so much love in our hearts for her. St. John the 14th Chapter Verses 2 and 3 states:
Verse 2:
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Verse 3:
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there yet may be also.
God picked the most precious and beautiful gardenia from Earth's garden Mia Goodwin. She is rejoicing in Heaven with the angels.
