Dear Robby, David, Tina, and Quin:
I loved your mother and will miss her greatly. She and your father brought much happiness to my mother (your "Auntie Sis") and to me over my entire life (from about age 9, when they were married). All of you and your sister Anne were a source of much pride, joy, and comfort to my "Aunt Smoky", always. I hope you can rest comforted with this knowledge. Much love to you all at this difficult time.

I am a friend of Tina's and met Mrs. Hess just once recently. Tina has told me some of her mother's early life, and from my meeting with her, seeing her beautiful calligraphy work, and the hearing the stories from Tina, I’m guessing she was quite a pip in her day, and led a fairly exciting and very good life. It is sad when we have to let go of our loved ones. Rich Miller

I was very sorry to learn of Mrs. Hess' death - she was always so helpful to the law students - I have fond memories of her from when I was in law school.

Robby, I was sorry to see of your mother's death. To have that happen right at Christmas on top of Katrina must be hard. Please express my sympathy to the rest of your brothers and sisters. I will remember her in my Masses.
