Olivia McClellan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 19, 2015.
Olivia was born on November 21, 1995 and passed away on April 19, 2015. Olivia was a resident of San Marcos, California, and was a student at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, where she was majoring in Health Sciences. She loved animals, especially her dog Axel, who passed on about a month before Olivia, her rabbit Jessica, and three cages full of parakeets. Olivia loved bright colors, glow sticks, bead bracelets, Kingdom Hearts, and exploring abandoned buildings. She had an adventurous spirit, was a talented artist and writer, and was really starting to enjoy life in New York. She was a loyal friend and had a real gift for cheering people up and making them feel good about themselves. She had a keen sense of justice and was always looking out for the underdog. Olivia will be missed by her parents, Scott and Cathy McClellan, her brother Trevor, her grandparents and cousins, and her many friends in California, New York, and elsewhere. Some random memories of Olivia: She hated feathers but loved birds. She was a Health Sciences Major. She was always reading the medical encyclopedia for fun even when she was very little. She loved beads and making jewelry. She took horseback riding lessons. She loved to cook. She was good at drawing. She was very creative! She loved all animals and creatures. When she was in elementary school, she used to bring snails home in her pocket. Her English Professor said she rarely gave out A's but gave Olivia several. She hated having her picture taken. She always had an adventurous spirit. She was a beautiful writer. She was good at the piano and wrote some original pieces. She could also play by ear and would try to get her teacher to play a piece first instead of learning to read the notes She had an incredible imagination. When she was little she created a whole bunny civilization. She made up their social structure, language, currency, and government. She received the Presidential Scholarship to attend Hofstra University and was in the Honors College. She loved to read. She loved abandoned places. She was never interested in driving, but could navigate her way around NY. She did so well on her Spanish placement test that she was asked to take it again to make sure she hadn't cheated. She scored even higher on the retake exam. (Thanks Mrs. Soto!) She loved bright colors. She had no sense of time. She was a germophobe and went through Clorox wipes like crazy. She was a champion for the underdog and had a strong sense of justice. She had a crazy sense of humor. She has a sensitive soul. She made up tons of silly nicknames for people and her pets. Her best friend was her brother Trevor. They had a special bond.
