Ms. Olivia Sanders was born April 20,1961, in East St. Louis, Illinois to Amos and Josephine Sanders. She was preceded in death by both parents, and siblings: Ernestine Collins, Amos Sanders Jr., Levada Williams, Johnny B Sanders, Gracie Black, Bertha Bryant, Marcella Ford, Raymond Sanders and Montzell White. She is survived by Dorothy Talbert, Richard (Margaret) Sanders, Bobbie (James) Gilliam, Charlotte Jefferson, Josephine Sanders, Arene (Khalil) Rushdan and a special aunt: Cozetta Jones
Olivia Sanders was united in holy matrimony to Andree Wright Sr. To this union two children were born: Andree Wright Jr. And Tersita Marcella Wright. They later divorced. She later met Keith V. Love Sr., and gained two more additional children: Shameka Love and Keith V Love Jr.. With this pairing they had a son of their own later in the years, Jordan Love
Olivia was employed early on at Hawthorne Elementary and later went to Lovejoy where she worked 10+years and a teachers assistant and preschool teacher. She later retired from Venice school district soon after the pandemic.
Olivia accepted Christ early on and found a new home later in life at Transforming Word Church. She was a regular attendee until the pandemic.
Olivia was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a staple to her community. She did charity work throughout East St. Louis and Brooklyn. She was big on keeping the community looking nice. She would cut neighbors grass and even houses on streets over from hers if the city wouldn’t do it. But her passion was teaching. She loved kids and would do anything for them. Especially her kids in the Brooklyn area. She considered them her babies also. Some thought she was from there as much as she was for the kids in the community. She was also one for baking goodies. If there was an event Olivia was whipping up one her good cakes and if you’re real special you would get that good caramel cake that was irresistible.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Andree Wright Jr., Tersita Wright, and Jordan (Brittany) Love; 8 grandchildren Bre’Niya, Jordyn, Ja’Miya, Mikyra, Astarr, Amerie, Zendaya and Micale. Olivia had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends and students.
