Olivia Scott Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 25, 2024.
Olivia Gil Scott, 79, passed away on October 23, 2024, in Selma, TX surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 13, 1945, in Corpus Christi, TX, Olivia dedicated her life to serving her community, her family, and her country in various supportive roles.

Olivia graduated from Roy Miller High School and later attended Del Mar College, both in Corpus Christi, TX. Her professional journey spanned across law enforcement and social services, where she made significant contributions to the welfare of her community.

Her personal life was deeply intertwined with the military, proudly being a Navy Wife and an Army Mom. Her daughter's service in the Army brought a deep sense of pride and commitment to military causes, which was evident in her voluntary services at the Wounded Warrior Family Service Center. Here, she worked alongside her husband to assist war heroes and their families in adjusting to life back home. Olivia was raised Catholic and was a beacon of hope and strength in her community. Her adventurous spirit shone through her hobbies, which included zip lining and arts and crafts. She also had a profound love for her animals Pepe, Cha Cha and Sara.

Olivia is survived by her husband, Robert Theodore Scott II; children, Robert Theodore Scott III and Sandra Christine Scott; siblings, Gloria Dominguez and Tina Cross; and grandsons, Zaccary Dylan Lindholm, Ryan Austin Lee, and Ian Vincent Scott. I have many memories of OLIVIA SCOTT growing up, but the one that sticks out the most is after my mom, Olivia Martinez (her cousin), passed away. Olivia Scott made me a beautiful butterfly bracelet and sent me a lovely note with the bracelet. The butterfly represented my mom, who adored butterflies. I was so happy to receive such a beautiful gift. Olivia was a lovely, caring person. I will miss our out-of-the-blue conversations. Rest in peace.

My favorite thing about my Aunt Olivia is her laughter ~ she had the best laugh and found funny humor in many things listening to Olivia´s laughter was infectious ~ laughter is the best medicine ~

My memories of my Auntie Olivia is of how beautifully ~ creative ~ a natural artist ~ you name it Olivia could create it &
one of my favorites is of a
ceramic scissor rack that she designed to hang on the wall ~
what I loved was
Olivia´s message on the
Ceramic Scissor Rack:
"this is my scissor rack ~ if you use my please put them back"
(simple & kind)

Always kind words Olivia spoke & wrote ~

Auntie Olivia was very impactful to my childhood, and maybe more than she ever knew. I loved visiting my grandmother Mia and getting to see auntie Olivia. She was the absolute kindest soul, she was so caring and thoughtful and just such a feeling of warmth to be around her. I´ll cherish the memories of her from my youth and I can still her voice and laugh. Thank you auntie Olivia for your love, your smile, your light and gift of your laugh that echoes forever in my heart. Oh and thank you especially for letting me always play with the ferrets even though uncle Bob wasn´t always a big fan of me taking them out I love you auntie I love you uncle Bob, Sandy and Bobby!

My heart is filled with sorrow. Olivia was dear to my heart. I have so many memories of her but my best memory was when Zaccary, Michaelanne and myself went to visit Ta and Nana Olivia in Corpus Christi. She was decorating for Christmas and had to get some decorations out of the garage. She asked for my help but as we entered the garage she jumped up on the mustange on to a table and her itty bitty self was practically hanging from the rafters, tossing me box after box. We laughed so hard because here she was, my sons grandmother, scalling the grage walls like an acrobat. I will never forget her laugh! Rest in Peace Olivia! Much Love! Erica

While you are physically gone, the life lived and memories shared will live on. You had a remarkable life and left a lasting impact on everyone you came in contact with. You always knew how to make people feel special and put a smile on everyone´s face. I´ll always remember my early childhood memories with you. While my heart hurts from your passing, I pray that you can now rest in peace and comfort. With all of my love

My beautiful Aunt Olivia one of the things that I will always remember the most is her class and style! This lady had it all. She was beautiful she used to wear beautiful gold necklaces and I remember seeing her particularly dressed one time in jeans and some high heels at my grandma's house and her hair was all wavy and beautiful and all these beautiful gold chains around her neck and I thought one day I'm going to look just like my auntie and she was driving a Ford Mustang and I ended up buying a Ford Mustang in the '90s and I always thought wow she is something else. She always made me laugh and when she talked Spanish she used to talk so fast just as fast as she talked English lol. I have so many happy fun memories with my auntie over the years. I know that through the years she always made it a point and Sandy also to stay in touch with me I remember going to Tahoe I think maybe almost 10 years ago we drove to Tahoe we had so much fun. Auntie Olivia and Sandy took a trip heard from Texas to California and they drove and they spent the night at my house. I wish I could have held you one more time. I wish I could have kissed your cheek one last time. I will always remember seeing you the last time I saw you and you gave me a bunch of little gifts that meant so much to me. I still wear the anklet. The bag with all the beautiful butterflies including a blue butterfly which symbolizes my grandma to me I use everyday. I have a pine cone that she decorated and has a little bird on top and it's in a little planter pot and I have that in my bathroom I see it every day and think of her. I love you Uncle Bob and cousin Sandy and may God envelope you in his loving warm embrace and take care of you at this time. Love your niece Maria
