A beloved mother, daughter, sister, great- granddaughter, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend, Olivia Genevieve Tanner Wetzel, 24, of Cortland, Illinois, unexpectedly left this world on February 1st, 2021.
Olivia was born on July 26th, 1996 in Florissant, Missouri to Russel L. Tanner, II and Tamra J. (Leatherberry) Tanner.
Olivia was a sweet, tender beautiful soul, with a smile that could melt your heart and an infectious laugh. She loved deeply and intensely and left an indelible impression upon every person who knew her. She had a zest for life and did her very best to live it to the fullest.
Olivia loved art, music, singing, dancing, writing, acting, journaling, camping and creating things. She really enjoyed taking care of and decorating her home. She had an avid interest in medicine, and health science. She loved all things shiny, pretty, and bright - candles, twinkle lights, clothing, makeup, jewelry, purses, shoes - everything " girly " from the time she was a wee baby. She loved having her nails done and looking pretty, which she did effortlessly.
She had a heart for God, horses, cats, dogs - especially Otis, Emmie and Duffy, but most of all Delilah, her mini-heartbeat, and ever constant companion- really all creatures great and small, and her friends, especially. Olivia loved her friends endlessly and was a good friend to so many. Quick to show her friendship, there was an endless supply of love and compassion for every friend she knew and had.
Olivia was a fun, deeply loving, and caring sister, filled with spontaneous energy that encouraged adventures with Benjamin, Titus and Lindsey that would end in hilarity, laughter, and sworn sibling secrecy. They were her very first and best friends. Even after starting her own family, Olivia continued to show her love for her youngest siblings, having "Sisters' Day", sleepovers, and loads of unacceptable snacks - again involving sworn secrecy from Mom.
The most important relationship of all to Olivia, and the role that was more important to her than any other, was that of mother. The absolute loves of her life were her daughters. She derived a very special satisfaction from caring for them and making a home for them. They were her pride and joy and the proudest reflection of her heart.
Olivia is preceded in death by her father, Russel L. Tanner II; grandmother's, Katherine Maranzano, Brenda Migonis; Great- grandparents, Homer "Red" and Jean Goodell, Hilbert and Genevieve Leatherberry; Aunt, Cindy Smith; cousins, Laura Hines and Laura's son, Joshua Smith.
Olivia is survived by her adoring children August Reign Lynn Wetzel, and Winter Faye Wetzel, Step-daughter Maya Rose Wetzel, and their father, Jeffrey Wetzel; mother, and step-father, Tamra and Jeremy Migonis; siblings, Lindsey (Josh) Solomon, Maria Tanner, Paul Tanner, Benjamin Tanner, Titus Tanner, Mariska Migonis, Odessa Migonis, Vivienne Migonis, Mila Migonis; grandmothers, Toni Andrews, Whisper Petersen; grandfathers, Allen Leatherberry, Harry Migonis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private service will be held.
