Omer Lee Pollert, 89, Seymour, passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Lutheran Community Home.
Mr. Pollert was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served aboard the USS Los Angeles in the Pacific. He was employed with Union Hardware. He was a hard-working, dedicated family man who demonstrated honesty and integrity to his friends and co-workers.
Born Nov. 2, 1922, in Jackson County, he was the son of Edward G. and Emma (VonDielingen) Pollert. On Aug. 30, 1952, at Sauers, he married Norma Russell, who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Ron (Donna) Pollert, David (Elaine) Pollert, Brian Pollert, and Tim (Cindy) Pollert; grandchildren, Adam (Stacy) Pollert, Ian Pollert, Carrie Ann (Jason) Smith, Taryn Pollert and Tyler Pollert; great-grandchildren, Collin and Oliver Pollert and Eli Smith; and a brother, Leroy Pollert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Christen Anne Pollert; brothers, Melvin Pollert and Leon Pollert; and sisters, Ola Wilhelinina Pollert and Verna Darlage.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg, the Rev. Philip Bloch, the Rev. James Rodriguez and Vicar Joseph Barlau officiating. Burial will take place at Lutheran Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran School, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, or charity of choice.
