Oriente SANTILLI Obituary
1919 – 2013
After a short illness, Oriente passed away peacefully on August 16. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 57 years, Angiolina (nee Di Pierdomenico), beloved children Sofia (George), Raymond (Florence) and Anthony (Cécile) and his cherished grandchildren Jessica, Emily, Michael, Alice, Matthew, Paul and Stefanie, brother-in-law George (Joyce). Oriente will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends in Canada, the US and Italy. His family and friends will miss his loving smile, great strength and sense of humour. His love for nature was only surpassed by his love for his family. Born in Cerro al Volturno, Italy he moved to Canada in 1952 and lived in Montreal where he raised his family. He then moved to Toronto to be close to his children and grandchildren after retirement. If desired, memorial donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Visitation will be held for family and friends at Jerrett's Funeral Home, 8088 Yonge Street on Tuesday, August 20 between 5:00 p.m and 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Parish, 39 Green Lane, Thornhill, on Wednesday, August 21 at 11:00 a.m.

Sofia, Our hearts go out to you and your family during this difficult loss. Oriente was the epitome of the true patriarchal figure. He led a good example by virtue of great values, strenght of character, and hard work . He had a zest and passion for life and nature which were contagious. His unwavering commitment and love for his family were always a priority. We fondly recollect the time my husband and he went on a fishing trip up north. It left us with a treasure trove of fond memories. He will also be remembered for his great sense of humor which brought laughter to all who knew him.
His great disposition and wonderful smile will be sorely missed by both family and friends.
