NEWPORT NEWS - Orion "Tommy" Griffith, 73, Sergeant First Class, U.S. Army, Retired, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Orine Griffith; son, David Griffith and his wife, Debbie; stepson, Lawrence Parker and his wife, Valerie; granddaughter, Kerri Resler; grandson, Peter Parker; four great-grandchildren; sister, Margie Mason; and special half brother, Billy Parker. The family will receive friends at home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. David Simmons of Temple Baptist Church. Mr. Griffith requested no flowers. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 235 Harpersville Rd., Newport News, VA 23601. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.

My Uncle Tommy will always be very special to me. Whenever I hear someone whistle I will think of him. Whenever I see jig-saw puzzles, I will think of him. I send all my love to Aunt Orine and the family. I wish I could be with you.
