Oscar Banfield Obituary
He was born September 18, 1919 in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys Stonecipher and Ray Banfield.
He attended Columbus City Schools and earned his Bachelor and Masters Degrees from Ohio State University. He was an Explosive Engineer with Martin-Marietta Aggregates.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Jennie Chapmon Roberts Banfield; step-sons, Kenneth Roberts, Jr., Randy Roberts and Mark Roberts, all of Reidsville, N.C. and Craig Roberts of Advance, N.C.; sisters, Zoe Banfield of Worthington, Ohio; seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2004 at Summersett Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Cook, Chaplain, Rowan Regional Medical Center. Burial will be private. Visitation will follow memorial service at Summersett Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Rowan County, 112 W. Innes St., Salisbury, N.C. 28144.
