Oscar D. Fernandez Corpus Christi/ Mercedes, age 63, died on December 11, 2016, at a Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Oscar was born August 16, 1953, in Mercedes, Texas, the son of Jose Agustine Fernandez and Lydra Adame Fernandez.
Oscar is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Fernandez, his children: Robert (Jana) Fernandez, Kathleen Fernandez, and Kristine Fernandez; his brothers, Jose Fernandez and Noel (Joan) Fernandez, and four grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, December 14, 2016, beginning at Heavenly Grace Funeral Home.
Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Mercedes, TX. Burial will follow at Heavenly Grace Memorial Park.
Honored to be serving as Mr. Fernandez's pallbearers are Kenneth Reger, Joe Fernandez, Noel Fernandez, Robert Fernandez, Billy Maxwell, and Devon Everett. Honorary pallbearers will be Julian Trevino, Ava Fernandez, and Nicholas Fernandez.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heavenly Grace Funeral Home, 26873 N. White Ranch Rd., La Feria, TX 78579 (956)797-5500.

My deepest condolences to my wonderful friend Debbie and family. I met Oscar once years ago. Oscar was all smiles, and he told me that he had graduated 6th in his High School class. We were #6 to each other from then on since we were both 6th in our respective graduating High School classes. Oscar is at peace and in a wonderful blessed place.

God could not have given me a better cousin---+Oscar David Fernandez. Oscar was one of a kind. He was always caring, joking and playing pranks on me. What a kind and gentle soul now rests in the presence of our Almighty God forever.
Lorenzo and I send our love and most heartfelt condolences to his loving and beautiful wife, Debbie; his amazing children, Bobby, Kristine, and Katherine; his brothers, Joe and Noel Fernandez, and the rest of his family.
