Oscar A. Perez, born in Saltillo, Mexico on February 27, 1913 and passed away on June 14, 2001 at J. Robert Lauer Hospice in West Palm Beach, FL. Oscar and his family moved to Chicago in 1919. A graduate of Lakeview High School. He worked for the Chicago Boiler Co. for 55+ years, starting in the factory and retiring as a designer and draftsman. He was an active Barbershop singer and a well known member of the SPEBSQSA for 53 years. He was also in demand by numerous companies and clubs as an organizer of children's games at picnics, and was famous for entertaining children and adults alike. Oscar was preceded in passing by his parents, Manuel and Dolores Perez; and his beloved wife of 63 years, Martha Perez, nee Schutz; He leaves his sister, Dolores Cardenas of San Antonio, TX; son, Glen Perez of Chicago, IL; daughter Lita Rogers; granddaughter, Tracy Jette; son-in-law Mario Jette; and three great-grandsons twins, Ian and Jessy, and Shane Glen Jette, all of West Palm Beach, FL; many nieces, nephews and very special friends. Oscar left this life with a song on his lips and harmony in his heart. A Memorial Luncheon will be held on Sunday, July 15, 2001, 1 p.m. at the White Eagle Restaurant in Niles, all family and friends are welcome. For info call Glen: 773-248-4536.
