Ossi Juhani Vesterinen

Ossi Juhani Vesterinen was born in Tuusula, Finland on February 1st, 1990 to Leeni Vilpas and Jorma Vesterinen. Ossi was an energetic boy from a very early age. He showed great patience in learning new things and profound interest in a variety of academic subjects. In 2002, Ossi moved to Southlake, Texas with his family. He excelled academically in his new home and earned the President’s Award in middle school, and was a National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and honor roll student in high school at Southlake Carroll High School. After graduating high school Ossi continued his studies at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in mechanical engineering, before transferring to the University of North Texas and majoring in psychology. Beyond the bookwork, Ossi was an outstanding tuba player, an animal lover who adored his three adopted cats, and a loyal friend. Amongst his friends, he will be remembered for his soft-spoken and caring nature, his great listening abilities, and understated sense of humor. Ossi was with us for too short a time, but he left us with innumerous fond memories which we are proud to own. It was amazing to see him to grow to that wonderful young man we knew and loved. Ossi will be deeply missed by his dad, mom, younger brother, Juho, and family in Finland, as well as by his friends, and neighbors in the US.
