Frances I. Preston, 79, of Lafayette, passed away at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at St. Elizabeth East.

Born December 8, 1935 in Adolphus, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ezra and Annie (Shields) Gregory.

Her marriage was to Paul F. Preston on October 12, 1974 in Evansville, IN. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2000.

Frances worked as a sheltered care aide for 3 years, prior to that, she worked for Calson Advertising of Paris, IL in the Finishing Dept. for 6 years. She was a former member of the Free Methodist Church, and currently a member of Brady Lane Church of Christ. Frances enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Nolan (husband: Michael) of Lafayette, and her grandsons, Evan and Mason Nolan.

Preceding her in death with her parents and husband are a brother, Garland Gregory, and 3 sisters, Oma Law, Lucille Page, and Mildred Rainwater.

Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Friday, August 7, 2015 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service there at 1 pm, Saturday, August 8. Rev. J. William Overbay officiating. Interment to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lafayette. Following the cemetery services, a reception will be held at Brady Lane Church of Christ (2701 Brady Lane, Lafayette, IN 47909).
