Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 13, 2007.
SHAW, Owen Kenneth "Ken", a man of enormous courage, passed away, in Ottawa on March 10th, 2007, after an almost two-year battle with lung cancer. We mourn the passing of the loving husband of YuQing Elizabeth Shaw and the great dad of Michael and Peter Shaw, as well as a wonderful father to Dave Shaw, Carol Fleming, Richard Shaw, Mona Murphy and Lori Gunter. A successful businessman with a warm heart and fun personality, Ken has left many cherished memories in the minds and hearts of so many people. He will be dearly missed by us all. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on March 14th, 2007 from 10:00 am - 12:00 noon. A private service will be held in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations to O.K. Shaw Memorial Fund / Community Foundation of Ottawa, 75 Albert Street, Suite 301, Ottawa, Ontario K1P 5E7 would be appreciated.

I will always remember Uncle Ken taking us kids to North Sydney (we never got to ride in a car) to his home and spoiling us with treats and excellent food. He was very kind. My deepest sympathy to the family.

We also had a nice time in Fredericton while visiting Ma and Da, Uncle Ken hosted us to a wonderful day at his home and cottage. Our sincerest sympathy to the family especially to his children.

My condolences to the Shaw family. As you know, I worked for Mr. Shaw for over 17 years, and I can still say, he was the best employer I ever had. I was always treated with great respect and kindness, and I will always remember this. Mr. Shaw, you will not be forgotten.
