P. David Opalka, 55, of Ford City, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 20, 1957, in Kittanning, a son of the late Dr. Paul Opalka and M. Jean Renaldo Opalka. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed as an optician at his family business in Kittanning. A member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, he was also a member of the Ford City Falcons and Kittanning Men's Club. He was a Little League coach of 20 years. He enjoyed golfing, being with Richard at the creek and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Glenna Rupert Opalka, whom he married Aug. 10, 1981; sons, David Michael Opalka and Nichoals Ryan Opalka, both of Ford City; daughter, Brandi and Seth Coyle, of Butler; grandchildren, Olivia Grace Coyle, Anna Jean Coyle and Derek Paul Coyle; brother, Dr. John and Julie Opalka, of Ford City; and siter, Kim Opalka, of Ford City. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the MANTINI FUNERAL HOME, Ford City, where Parastas service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Prayer service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the funeral home followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Ukrainian Chuch with Father John Gribik as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.
