Pamela Armitage Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 12, 2024.
On Sunday August 25, 2024, Pamela Armitage, loving sister, aunt and great-aunt passed away at the age of 66 years old. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Armitage, father George Chandler, mother Clara Hamric, step father Allen Hamric, brother Scott Chandler. She is survived by her sister Wendy Jones, nieces Jenna Chandler, Cierra Leonardo (Thomas), Kristyn Coleman (Christopher), nephew Coletin Jones (Katie), great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins and many friends that she considered family.

Pam was born on September 14, 1957 in Germany at the military base where her father George was stationed. She lived in the Sacramento area from childhood and graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1975. She worked at JCPenney for almost 30 years and made many lifelong friends there and at California State Controllers Office where she retired.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, and making every holiday festive with decorations, baked goodies, celebrations, and handmade holiday sweatshirts for her nieces and nephew. She loved her birthday adventures with her friend Annette and her New Years celebrations with her friend Char. She enjoyed music and could name most songs and artists in less than 10 notes. Above all, Pam loved her cat "children". They were her comfort and loyal companions when she was not well enough to leave her home. She adopted many over the years from Happy Tails. In lieu of sending flowers, please donate in remembrance of Pam's love of cats to Happy Tails Pet Sanctuary.

Pam had a great personality and was her own person. I worked with her for many years. At our potlucks she always brought the best Taco Salad. I, to this day have in my kitchen the framed "Pam's Taco Salad", she gave me for my retirement. We stayed in touch through Facebook. I will miss her, may she rest in peace.

I'll always remember her laughter. Never saw her mad or angry. One could see her joy was true because her eyes sparkled and her whole face lit up. Such a beautiful and vibrant lady. She and Rick were a perfect match.

I had lost my job and needed to move back to Sacramento while my wife and kids had to stay in Livermore finishing school and waiting for transfer back to Sacramento. Pam and Rick took me in opening their house to me, taking me to all their favorite restaurants. Pam was always very friendly with a laugh you could hear across the street. I will always remember Pam enjoying every moment of life.
