Pamela Carter
October 25, 1963 ~ July 4, 2025
Pamela Carter was born on October 25, 1963 in Burley, Idaho, the second of six children born to Derral and Raedene Warner. She passed away in
Springville, Utah on July 4, 2025 at the age of 61, holding her daughters' hands.
Pam's siblings are Jeff, Bradley, Mark, Eric and Heather. She spent her early years in Twin Falls, Idaho. When she was in the fifth grade the family moved twelve miles outside of Filer, Idaho, on the edge of the desert adjacent to Bureau of Land Management property. Pam and her siblings spent their time playing with another large family near their home. Pam and the others enjoyed activities that today's children will never experience!
They swam in local canals - unsupervised and without permission. Pam enjoyed swimming. They climbed around in the neighbor's barn, on the hay bales and on the windmill that was on the property. She loved playing with the animals. Somehow they all survived these shenanigans as well as the giant swings and the teeter-totter at the playground of the Clover Trinity Lutheran Church in Buhl, Idaho.
Every year family and cousins went to Redfish Lake in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains to go tent-camping at Point Campground. They would arrive early in the morning to get the best camping spots. One of the uncles had a water ski boat. Five big families would participate for an entire week. There was huge rock in the lake near the shoreline. Everybody enjoyed climbing on the rock, swimming and playing around the camp.
Pam was on the drill team at Filer High School and loved dancing and was able to attend most of the sporting events with the drill team. In 1980, when Pam was a junior in high school, the family moved to Spanish Fork, Utah. Pam graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1982. When she was a little older, she liked going to the Star Palace Disco on 900 East in Provo. Favorite memories that her children have of their mother took place in the Ritz Club in Salt Lake City where she would dance and host the karaoke, at home, where they would dance around the living room and sing to the end credits of their favorite movies, and in the car, listening to the "Bug Butts" song mom would sing to distract the kids on long drives. (It worked every time!) Music and laughter were an integral part of her life.
Pam loved being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and lived by the Savior's principles. She enjoyed serving others. She was never critical of others. Everyone that Pam encountered felt safe around her. Strangers gravitated to her. She collected friends wherever she went. People understood that they could talk with her. Pam possessed the ability to add fun and silliness to even serious situations. Her energy brought joy to everyone she met and to every situation. She definitely had a young soul and spirit. She had the unique ability to celebrate small things. She never allowed her faith to get in the way of tolerance. Likewise, she never let tolerance get in the way of her faith. She always put her children first.
Pam is survived by her father Derral Warner, her children: Katy (Cody) Hoffmann, Kristin (Aaron) Patton, Kimberly (Degen) Storrer, Krystal (Westley Muir) Carter, Jason Carter and Samuel Carter, and the daughter of her heart Lola Davis; her grandchildren: Kaiden, Michael, Ryker, Damen, Ayden, Mairi, Saoirse, Chloe, Thomas, William, and Calliope. She was preceded in death by her mother, Raedene Brower Warner, her brother Bradley Warner, and granddaughter Atriel Carter.
The family thanks the care team at Huntsman Cancer Institute for their compassionate care. The family also thanks the caretakers at Canyon Health and Hospice for their empathetic care and kindness, and for going above and beyond to support mom and our family during a difficult time. The family and extended family of Pam Carter express their immense gratitude to Dawn Prickett for her generous and selfless support of Pam through to the end of her illness. Dawn's substantial support allowed Pam to have peace and took a huge burden from her shoulders. This allowed Pam to focus on her treatment and her time with family. Dawn, you are a guardian angel!
Finally, the family thanks Lola Davis for her selfless and loving dedication to mom's care and comfort, for opening her home and her heart to the family, and giving mom the gift of being surrounded by family and peace during her final days. Lola is our angel on Earth, our sister, daughter, granddaughter and bestie. Words will never be adequate to express the love and gratitude our family feels. We love you Lola!
A celebration of Pam's life will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at the Utah State Hospital Chapel, 1300 E. Center St., Provo, UT 84606 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date to be announced.
