Pamela (Pam) Gancer, beloved wife of Peter Gancer of Airdrie, AB, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at the age of 57 years. Pam was fast to make friends, people seemed drawn to her warm smile and quick wit. Her passions included gardening, camping, travelling, and her dogs, visiting with friends and family but mostly spending quality fun-time with her grandkids. Besides her loving husband of thirty-nine years, Pam is survived by three daughters and two sons- in-law, Ricki and Matt Peters, Jodi and Lars Gancer Frohnsdorf and Kelli Gancer; grandchildren Kamryn, Braydon and Parker Peters, Benjamin and Georgia Gancer Frohnsdorf. She is also survived by her siblings, Wayne Ritchie, Cheryl Blumke, Patti Nopper, Janice Vouri, Rob Ritchie, Nancy Gocal and David Ritchie and their families. Pamela was predeceased by her parents Donnie Ritchie and Doris (Dodie) Ritchie.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made in Pam's name directly to Hospice Calgary, 1245 – 70th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB T2H 2X8, Telephone: (403) 263-4525, www.hospicecalgary.com. In living memory of Pamela Gancer, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

I am so sorry to have heard this terrible news about Pam . We were friends in school & hung around with her when we weren't in. We all loved Pam & especially her laugh . She made people very comfortable around her that you knew that she would always be there if you need her . I am sorry that I never wrote this until now , but I finally found this & was able to do this . I am proud to say that I knew Pam & that she was my friend . She will be sadly missed ...

Pam was one of my mentors when I started my career at WestJet. I will always remember her kind words of encouragement to myself and our class. She was an amazing lady that shared stories of her grandson ( she only had one then) with me, she loved being a grandma! It is sad that people depart this world so young, she made a mark in so many lives. God Bless Pamela Gancer

Dear Peter and Family;
I was so saddened to hear of Pam's passing, she is a true angel now as she was here on earth. Knowing Pam since grade 1 and the school plays we were in brought back so many memories of our PIxie Pam and her infectious laugh and smile. I will always cherish those and our chance meetings in the produce isle . My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Tipping Close has lost a very beautiful sole, one who will be sadly missed. Pam and Peter always welcomed all new comers with open arms, a beautiful smile and a glass of wine from time to time. We will miss you girl you can rest now.

Our hearts go out to all of you during your time of sorrow. Pam was a great person and a good friend all the way back to Grade 1. We would giggle and giggle each time we were together no matter how old we were. I wish we could giggle on into our old age, but that was not to be. I will always hear her laugh and see her big smile. She will be deeply missed.

So very sad to hear of Pam's passing. Pam was a very big part of my WestJet life over the many years we worked together in the Quality program and I have many wonderful memories of that time. Greg and I were also privileged to spend some precious time with both Pam and Peter since her illness. Like so many others have said her wonderful smile and laugh and the beautiful person she was will be forever missed. Our sincere condolences go out to Peter and all of her family.
