Pamela Hunsuck Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 14, 2024.
Pamela Sue (Coss) Hunsuck

Pam an Alaskan transplant of 38 years left us to be with the Lord on October 24th, 2024 in a car accident while living her best retired life vacationing in Murphy Texas. Pam was born in Olean, NY on December 7, 1958 to Joan and Raymond Coss. She grew up in Erie County Village of Angola, New York. Pam is the 2nd oldest and the only girl out of 4 children. She Graduated from Lake Shore High School with honors in 1977. After high school Pam went on to Sacred Heart College in Belmont North Carolina to earn a BS in social work. After graduating college she met the love of her life Bill and soon after they got married. Bill convinced Pam into moving to Alaska (where he is from) telling her it will only be a few years. They settled in Anchorage and raised three beautiful daughters, Meghan, Tia & Catherine.

Bill passed in 2013 and the joy left her heart. And a few years ago, Glenn Thomas, her 2nd love, came into her life and brought the sparkle to her eyes and laughter to her heart again. They traveled A LOT, went to many concerts, and enjoyed the fun and exciting times making memories that filled her heart with joy.

Being from the Buffalo, NY area, Pam was a life long Buffalo Bills fan. She was a huge Buffalo Bills fan, a tridition she passed down to her children and often made it a family affair to sit and watch together

Pam worked for Hope community resources for 17 years. After 17 years of doing social work, she started her road to retirement in Human Resources for the last 19 years and finished off her last working day ever and retired from Ahtna Global, LLC July 5th 2024.

She lived life to the fullest whether that meant, dinner with friends to sky diving! She loved all the live music and went to many concerts! She spent most weekends at her cabin on Big Lake and was embracing the lake life. You would find her shopping with any spare time she had, she loved a good deal! Making memories and spending time with family was most important to her.

Pam is survived by her daughters,
Mehgan (Toby) Tremble
Tia Hunsuck
Catherine (Eddie) Eynart
Grandchildren Cooper & Brooke Tremble, Emmett & Eli Eynart, and LucyBlue, brothers Doug Coss (Mary) Danny Coss & Greg Coss (Anne).
Her many extended brother
& sisters in-law, many nieces and nephews
And her companion Glenn Thomas.

Pam was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hunsuck and, parents Ray & Joan Coss.

I am thankful for the gift of
Pam and her family in my growing up years on Dellwood Ave in Angola. Even in her youth she was a bright, smiling light. So very sorry for all of Pam´s family and friends - heartbroken. What a gift heaven has been given.

Pam was a beautiful and strong person. She was my mom's first friend when she moved to Anchorage. Always getting her out to try new foods and shops. Her positivity was a beacon and I'm honored that we got to know such a wonderful person. My heart and thoughts are with her daughters and grandkids.

Pam was such a bright light in our Ahtna family-always greeting everyone with her radiant smile and warm presence. It was impossible not to feel uplifted in her company.

Pam had a special way of making you feel welcome and valued. She was truly a joy to work with, and her cheerful spirit will be deeply missed.

Please know that I´m keeping her family, friends, and all who loved her in my thoughts during this difficult time. -Ve'dra Bechtol

Her wonder smile! I had the pleasure of meeting Pam while she & and my uncle Glenn were here in NY visiting. Pam was a delight to get to know and so down to earth and fun. I was so happy for her and my uncle. She made Glenn happy as he did her. It was obvious and wonderful to see. She will missed early. My condolences & love to all!

This is my second attempt at sharing memories.

First time I met Pam when she interviewed at Hope Cottages. She was sweet and cute in a pink dress with pearls. She was strong and determined. I worked with her for more than 10years.

The first picture is of Precious, Pam and myself in Lake Tahoe. They came to visit after Ron and I moved to Carson City, NV (2000).

My father and best friend passed away 2014-2015. Justin and took a trip to Alaska and stayed with Pam. By 2:00am, Justin told us to stop talking and go to bed. This trip was liking falling into the arms of close friends, nurturing and healing. Thank you Pam.

Pam joined me in a trip to Okinawa in 2017. It took her an hour from getting the invitation to buying a plane ticket. We had a great time. Pam is setting in front of our daily breakfast. We also had a chance to dress up .

I remember interviewing Pam at Hope Cottages. She wore a pink dress with pearls. She looked like a Barbie doll. At first, I wasn't sure because she looked so sweet. It turns out that she was incredibly strong. She was amazing.

My father and best friend died in 2015. So, Justin (my son) took a trip to Anchorage and stayed with Pam. The first night, Pam and I were up until 2:00am. Justin finally asked us to go to bed. This trip was the most nurturing and healing trip that I needed.

I called Pam in 2017 and asked if she would like to join me for a week in Okinawa. Within an hour, she called me back with a plane ticket. We had a great time.

Cat, Megan & Tia,
My heart goes out to you as you walk a path never wanted. May you add to the lifetime of memories, many special gifts of beautiful dreams and unknown stories from others to cherish.
I remember your mom, a beautiful, graceful woman with a magnetic smile at Ed & Cat´s first baby shower. Her love for all her family on full display.
May you feel the loving arms of Christ Jesus as we pray for your family during this time.
