Pamela Patenaude Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 1, 2025.
Pamela Mary (Smith) Patenaude, 75, passed away on February 25, 2025, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, with her devoted husband of fifty-five years, Allen Patenaude, by her side. Born on December 10, 1949, to Olivia and Russell Smith in New Bedford, Pamela grew up alongside her siblings and cherished the memories of working together in their father's variety store. Pam was a dedicated nurse, working many years at Our Lady's Haven in Fairhaven, Dermatology Associates in Dartmouth, and later as pediatric nurse before retiring. She had a deep love for gardening, creating stunning flower beds and thriving vegetable and herb gardens. She also enjoyed crafting, singing, and photography. Summers spent in the White Mountains of New Hampshire were among her favorite times, as were visits to the beautiful beaches of New England with Allen. Pamela is survived by her husband, Allen; her children Christopher, Rebecca, and Russell and their families; her siblings Nancy and Luis Gaudette of New Hampshire, Elizabeth Smith Bochman, Marietta and Robert Taylor of Massachusetts, and Russell and Vicky Smith of Connecticut; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 Temple Place, Fairhaven, MA 02719. Fellowship will follow the service.

I am saddened to read of Pam's passing. When she had Chris and Rebecca she let me babysit for them. It was my first babysitting job! I have thought about her often over the years. Even though she was 10 years older than me, I looked up to her. She was so kind to me. Rest in peace Pam. Say hi to my mom and dad for me.

My dear sister, Pamela, I pray & hope you may finally have peace with Our Lord, Mum & Dad and all our family & friends who have passed from this life. I remember your cuteness as a little girl, our memories of Russell Super Variety, at Holy Family, & the times Mum said bring your little sister with you! I remember your kindness in having a baby shower for me at your house, and the time you took care of the little handicapped boy! I am grateful for you being my sister & for Allen & your family. Love and kisses til we meet again! Nancy (& Louis)
