Pamela Turner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 25, 2025.
Pamela Eve Turner (81) passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her loving family after a short battle with cancer on Christmas night.

We hope that Pam has been reunited, by a warm embrace, with her loved ones who have passed on before her. She was predeceased by her parents, Max & Edna, her daughter Patty, son Stephen and granddaughter Noelani. She is survived by her husband Steve, her children; James of Rockland, David and his wife Marcia of Foxboro, Beth and her partner Dana of Pembroke, Carol of Plymouth, Stacy and her wife Ali of Marion and her daughter-in-law Keri of Mansfield. Pam was blessed with many grandchildren including; Celina, Stephanie, Stephen, Jimmy, Mandy, Sammy, Corey, Michael, Courtney, Corey, Jesse, Nikki, DeArndra, Christopher, Kaylee, Leighton, Keaton & Riley. Her family extended into 12 great-grandchildren all of whom she adored dearly.

Pam was born and raised in Sharon, MA. She settled in Plymouth with her husband Steve in a cottage in the sand on White Horse Beach. For 3 decades Pam was a dedicated paraprofessional at Manomet Elementary School, a job she very much loved. Her home was one of warmth providing a comforting and welcoming place for anyone who visited. The walls of the living room were filled with photos of her children and their families. Art projects by the children in her life lined the windowsills and shelves of her home. And the cottage was always packed to the brim each and every holiday - family, friends, and neighbors welcome. Pam and Steve, in that home, provided their family with countless years of fond memories that they will cherish always.

Pam and Steve were pillars of their White Horse beach community, spending 43 wonderful years enjoying beach life. Pam enjoyed spending her retired days sunning on the deck with a good crime or love novel in hand welcoming any visitor who wanted to pull up a chair. Her summer days were spent with her beach pals. Living in a right of way, Pam had the pleasure of watching the beachgoers head to the beach each morning and head home each evening. Most passing frequently stopped to say their hello's reporting how cold the water felt or how busy the beach was that day. Some grabbed a dog bone from the picnic table for their four-legged friends while others let their children enjoy Pam's vast pinwheel, wind chime, and American flag displays that lined the property. She always made sure her decor was refreshed for visitors to enjoy even in the winter seasons when passer-byers were few and far between.

She had a love of lighthouses, using them to decorate the interior and exterior of her home. Her favorite pastimes ranged from puzzles, gardening, art projects, gazing at any fireworks set off, and listening to the scanner for the local happenings with Plymouth Police & Fire. Pam was always on board for a nice meal out, an ice cream trip or just grabbing a pizza "up the street" from Monte's. Being a NASCAR fanatic led her to decorate her living room with posters, autographs, and even racing flags covering the ceilings. Her NASCAR trips with friends were some of her fondest memories in her golden years. If it was a race day you could be sure to find Pam inside cheering on her favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. In her final years of life, Pam and Steve were able to winter in sunny Bradenton, Florida where they met new friends and created lasting memories together.

Pam was many people's "go-to" person, always there to answer a phone or video call. She was a night owl, available into the wee hours of the morning to share her tales of the day and listen to the tales of others. She adored FaceTiming her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, being as a part of their lives as she could even if from a physical distance.

Her presence, love, and laugh will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit can be seen in the colors of each sunrise and sunset along the horizon. A hello from heaven can be felt in the cool breeze that graces your face on a warm summer day.

Pam's family would like to thank everyone who has reached out or offered assistance during this time. While the past few months have been extremely challenging, we have found comfort in learning of all of the lives that Pam has touched.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor the beautiful life that Pam lived.

I just learned of Pam´s passing. I am so sorry to hear this news. She was a great lady who loved the kids and staff she worked with at Manomet. I had the pleasure of working with her there. My sincere condolences to you, Steve, and your family all your family.

Every Christmas, me and my family would visit her and Grampy, I remember one year I got a Jeff Gordon car that I keep on my shelf to this day. My first car is a Monte Carlo, quite like the one I was given by her and my great grandfather, and I'm sure she would have loved to see it. One of my earliest memories was playing on the beach at her house on christmas day. Miss you Pam, you were the best great grandmother anyone could ask for!

Pam was always happy to welcome us to the beach. To sit on the deck with her and Steve. To relax and enjoy the sunshine. We will miss Pam’s infectious laugh and sharp wit. Our condolences to the family. ❤
