Pat Hallmark Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 14, 2011.
Pat Woodruff Hallmark, 56, was called home to be with her Lord on July 12, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother and nana and lived in the New Hope community for the past 30 years. Pat was a 1973 graduate of Wheeler High School and earned her Associate Degree in Nursing at Northeast Community College. Pat's loving, kind spirit was exemplified daily during her career as a nurse at several area clinics, hospitals and as a Plant Nurse at Eka- Nobel Chemicals. Her compassion and concern was demonstrated always to everyone she met. Pat celebrated each day of her life with a genuine giving heart and she found so much joy in seeing others happy. She never met a stranger and her beautiful smile left a lasting impression on the hearts of all those she knew. She was a devoted fan and supporter of so many sports and teams, especially MSU, Delta State, South Lamar, New Hope and Wheeler High Schools. Pat had a great appreciation for and a special connection with her doctors and the 3rd floor West nursing staff at NMMC and NMMC Cancer Center in Tupelo and Starkville. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Tony Hallmark of New Hope; her mother, Moiese Woodruff of Wheeler; (1) daughter, Lori Hallmark Cox (Stephen) of New Hope; (2) sons, Justin and Brent Hallmark, both of New Hope; (2) brothers, Bill Woodruff and Richard Woodruff (Belinda) both of Wheeler; (2) nephews, Blake and Brandon Woodruff both of Wheeler; (3) grandchildren, Hannah, Kiley and Sydney Grace Cox of New Hope and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by her father, Pete Woodruff and both her maternal and paternal grandparents. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:00-8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home in Columbus, MS and Friday from Noon until 5:00 PM at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn, MS. Services are at 5:00 PM with Bro. Jimmy Glover and Bro. Ricky Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Prentiss Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Blake Woodruff, Brandon Woodruff, Larkin DeMoville, Boomer Brown, Grey Land and Bill Conner. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Cox, Senator Terry Brown, Bill Martin, Sonny Cole, Dale Tucker, Tommy James, Donnie Odom, Todd Odom, Percy Shelton, Sammy Frederick, Bill Walker, Chauncey Green, Earl Stone, Larry Thweatt, Johnny Hallmark, Dr. Joel Butler, NMMC Third Floor West Nursing Staff, Dr. Andrew Kellum and Dr. Elbert Duncan of the NMMC Cancer Center.
